I’ve been a one-way street ever since my lights went out,
And I know that one way is never the easiest route,
So I’m sorry for pushing all your lit candles away,
It’s because I feel I need more than just one single ray,
I guess that it’s my fault wanting more than I need,
It seems obvious my sadness has turned into greed,
I should have accepted that it’s not all about me,
I should know that the world doesn’t see what I see,
And I know that I won’t change because I don’t understand,
How harshly I acted when they offered a hand,
One day I’ll realize how alone I really am,
And hopefully if I’m lucky people will still give a damn,
All I can say now is I’m sorry that I could only fight,
Every time you attempted to give me some light.

Student Waiting
Dark rings around the eyes,
And he silently sighs,
Frustration escaping from the tip of his tongue,
Another week has just begun,
You can tell that he’s a student waiting for direction,
Open the book to chapter three begin on the second section,
Just far enough into the year that there’s no end in sight,
But the summer has completely faded like the sun into the night,
Sleep is but a dream and dreams are nonexistent,
In a world where even your workload can be just too persistent,
Going on forever like a beautiful landscape except this one is stripped of its green,
The sand and the sky are all that remain to what now is quite a bland scene,
He puts on a smile so that if anyone looks,
He’s appears to be happy and immersed in his books,
He is really just counting each second that passes,
Through all of his days and all of his classes,
Until the moment he hears the final bell ring,
And he once again hears the summer birds sing.
And he silently sighs,
Frustration escaping from the tip of his tongue,
Another week has just begun,
You can tell that he’s a student waiting for direction,
Open the book to chapter three begin on the second section,

You Are Gorgeous
You are so beautiful that the sun rises each day just to see you,
There is no material that your glow will not bleed through,
So beautiful that flowers bloom in your presence,
Birds sing to hear the echo of your essence,
So beautiful that waves crash just to catch your eye,
People freeze as you walk by,
So beautiful that you can bring the dead to life with your kiss,
You're more than beautiful you are gorgeous.

Fresh Coat
One day I will die,
But I am no longer afraid,
To embark upon the journey,
That can only once be made,
I know I'll find my way,
As I go into the light,
The gate to heaven will be painted,
In a new fresh coat of white,
My guardian's the painter,
And he'll make sure that I arrive,
Because it has been many years,
Since we were both alive,
He's missed me as I've missed him,
But finally we will meet again,
Our bond of love is one so strong,
That only we can comprehend,
So when you look up to the sky,
And see a new star in the night,
You will know it's heavens gate,
Shining oh so bright.
But I am no longer afraid,
To embark upon the journey,
That can only once be made,
I know I'll find my way,
As I go into the light,
The gate to heaven will be painted,
In a new fresh coat of white,

And he'll make sure that I arrive,
Because it has been many years,

Our bond of love is one so strong,
That only we can comprehend,
So when you look up to the sky,
And see a new star in the night,
You will know it's heavens gate,
Shining oh so bright.

Fighting With Music
The pain shoots through my,
Brain burns my eyes,
Too much hurt to think,
So I turn up these,
Headphones to blind my memories with sound,
Killing the images with musical notes,
I'm going numb,
The only feeling left is the vibration of the base,
Bursting in my ears and out my skin,
I thump to the beat,
I become the sound,
I become my own escape.
Brain burns my eyes,
Too much hurt to think,
So I turn up these,
Headphones to blind my memories with sound,
Killing the images with musical notes,
I'm going numb,
The only feeling left is the vibration of the base,
Bursting in my ears and out my skin,
I thump to the beat,
I become the sound,
I become my own escape.
