It Still Hurts

It still hurts,
To think of a man who lived more in a day than most do in a lifetime,
A man whose smile made a dark room brighter than a star's shine,
A man with a laugh that filled the hollow echo of ones heart,
A man with whom I'd always wished I'd never have to part,
A man whose small hands had painted the dreams of many,
A man whose entire body was filled with love in every cranny,
It still hurts to think of a man who could never hug me long enough,
A man whose touch was soft even though his hands were rough,
A man who didn't follow rules not once in all his years,
A man whose presence next to me relinquished all my fears,
A man who couldn't hear so good but could listen very well,
A man who was an angel even though he lived through hell,
It still hurts to think of a man who left me far too soon,
A man who I envisioned by my side the day I became a groom,
A man who did it his way and never could be stopped,
A man whose life inspired many and never will be topped,
A man who gave me more love than any person ever will,
A man whose place in my heart no one else will ever fill,
It still hurts.
