You Are

You are my heart,
That keeps blood flowing through my veins,
Without you I am alone,
I just lie here in pain,
You are my thoughtful mind,
Without you I cannot think,
If I were a ship you’d be the hull,

You are the sun that lights my day,
And the stars of my warm summer nights,
You are the fresh air that I breathe in,
And the wind that carries my kite,
You are the tissue with which I wipe my eyes,
When tears stream down my face,
You are the thing that fills me up,
With all my empty space,
Without you I am helpless,
Like a bird that has no wings,
Without you I am nothing,
Like a bell that just can’t ring,
You bring to my life answers,
To questions that I’ve always had,
You bring to my life happiness,
When it’s always been so sad,
There is only one person,
With whom I’m meant to share my life
And you are that person,
