Beautiful Rain

I wish it was one hundred degrees outside,
But that the sun would quickly go away and hide,
Dark clouds would roll in with a very dark haze,
And it would rain as if it hadn’t rained in days,
The rain would be warm like the ocean in September,
And I’d feel more refreshed than any time I could remember
I wish the rain was so heavy that it hurt my skin,
Like I was made out of paper and it was wearing me thin,
I wish it rained so hard that I couldn’t see,
And that no matter how far I ran I couldn’t flee,
That I was covered in mud and dirt and grime,
And that the storm went on for all of time,
I wish the rain continued as the sun showed,
And a beautiful rainbow gently glowed,
I wish the rain would suddenly halt and everything was dry,
And that the rainbow held its place next to the sun up in the sky,
And I wish it was still warm and that it would never change,
Because once something is perfect it can never rearrange,
I think that I’ll dream of that wonderful rain tonight,
And I think my dream will last until I’m waked by all the light.
