I know poems don’t always have to rhyme,
But it’s something I enjoy much of the time,
Don’t question my writing as if you know best,
This is my home and you are my guest,
I don’t see your writing rhyming or not,
But I do see my writing and I have a lot,
This is how I write and most people enjoy,
And I can say that out loud I don’t need to be coy,
You see my rhymes possess a mind of their own,
And they can cheer me up when I feel all alone,
My rhymes make me smile right through my tears,
They make me brave when I only fear,
They make me sad when I need to remember,
The best time of my life way back in September,
And they never ever let me down,
When I’m on top of the world or when no one’s around,
So don’t tell me how I can write,
Because this is a battle I will surely fight,
If you don’t like it you don’t have to read,
But as for myself of rhyming I’m in dire need,
I promise you my poems will continue this way,
I hope that you like it but if not then don’t stay.
