Girl In The Rain

She stands there staring into nothingness,
Nothing in her mind with her nothing bliss,
The rain beats down on her soft blond hair,
But it seems as if she’s unaware,
Her white shirt drenched it weighs her down,
But she stays motionless as if no one’s around,
The blue jean shorts tight against her thighs,
Soaking up the tears from the darkened sky,
Little puddles of water formed in between her toes,
But she doesn’t care cause she doesn’t know,
Her bag is wet the contents may be harmed,
But she doesn’t check she seems unalarmed,
Every curve on her body outlined by her clothes,
Quite a beautiful sight just the way that it flows,
She continues to stand there alone with her mind,
Not accepting conceptions too which the world is confined,
And one second later she comes back to life,
Like she was suddenly cut open with such a sharp knife,
The moment has passed but the image is burned,
And she has lost everything that she just learned,
What a beautiful thing that just came to pass,
It’s upsetting to know that it couldn’t last.

  1. I really like the moment that you chose to write this poem about. It really resonates and creates a very real visual, and the epiphany is very comforting to think about in that kind of a setting.
