Failure

The conception of self-preservation is one that’s hard to contemplate,
Because the fact is that in your own hands lies your eventual fate,
The fear of being alone and falling too far to be retrieved,
Is a thought present in your mind that’s quite hard to conceive,
The knowledge that you could be faced with your imminent demise,
Is showing from the fear that gathers in your deep brown eyes,
You dream you wish you pray you hope for someone just to say,
I promise you no matter what it all will be okay,
Your mind is concentrating on being free and getting out alive,
But the twisted roads that lie ahead are quite hard to survive,
You long for the judgment day to come so you can be at rest,
Meanwhile you seem to consistently fail at always doing your best,
The clock is ticking and with it your time is running out,
So one more chance to fix it all and cure your endless doubts.
